Building and Demo-ing New Robotics

A mixed group of teachers and students from the Volts Wednesday Robotics group have been experimenting with the newly-arrived VEX IQ robotics kits, recently acquired by VIMSIA through federal grant funds. Under the direction Science Teacher Mr. Jordan, who has previous experience leading students to international championships in VEX IQ robotics competitions, these kits allow PGIA students to design, build, and operate different robots. They can then be disassembled to create new designs.

Here's a link to a recent VEX IQ competition scene.

This week, small groups demonstrated building and they will be integrated into core classes such as Design and Computer Science in the spring semester.

Check them out in action below:

There is strong potential for our PGIA students to experience hands-on STEM education, and to compete in future regional, national, and international robotics competitions!
