Athletics
The VIMSIA Volts Athletics program aims to be an inclusive one to include as many students as possible. All students are encouraged to participate no matter their athletic ability, and any student that has a desire to participate and who is in good academic standing is allowed to take part. In addition, the coach’s role is to teach student athletes first, and the student athletes role is to be open to learning. At VIMSIA we value the three pillars of effort, sportsmanship, and a growth mindset. Furthermore, we believe when the three pillars are in place, positive results will follow. The sports we currently offer are boys and girls volleyball, cross country, boys and girls basketball, track and field, boys and girls soccer, and sailing. Teams are subject to having enough student interest to field a team in that division.
Most competitive sports in the U.S. Virgin Islands are organized by the Interscholastic Athletic Association (IAA) for Varsity, JV, Middle School, and elementary school students where we play against other schools from St. John and St. Thomas. On occasion there are also tournaments held here in St. Thomas and in St. Croix, which offers us the opportunity to play teams throughout the territory.
VIMSIA’s Sailing Team - VIMSIA Volts started off full force at the beginning of the 2022-2023 year and are showing great success. Click here to find out how you can support this exciting program!
