Information Technology Coordinator

Type: Full Time, 12 month position

Job Summary: The IT Coordinator is responsible for providing technical support and managing the school's information technology systems. This role will involve a mix of troubleshooting, system administration, and network maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of the school's IT infrastructure. This person will also be responsible for maintaining the school’s Dept of Education assets. Furthermore, this person will coordinate Technology requirements for school functions both on and off campus, during school hours and beyond. This is a full-time, 12 month position.

Montessori Elementary Teacher

Type: Full Time Faculty

Virgin Island Montessori School is seeking AMI trained Elementary Guides to lead one of two Elementary classrooms on our beautiful campus on St. Thomas. Middle & High School Math Teacher(s)

Type: Full Time Faculty

This position is for a combination of Middle (grades 6-10) and/or High School (grades 11-12) mathematics. A perfect applicant will be able to teach 11th and 12th grade International Baccalaureate (IB) Applications and Interpretations (Trig, Advanced Stats, Calculus) and one or two other MS or HS math courses. Faculty teach four 72-minute classes out of seven total classes in the rotation. Our teachers must be able to run a student-centered, supportive classroom which is age-appropriate for the MS and/or HS classes they are assigned to. Our teachers have access to world-class professional development, job-embedded coaching, and a warm and welcoming community.

Learning Support Specialist (Grades 6-12)

Type: Full Time Faculty

This position will serve as the Learning Support Specialist for middle and high school, grades 6-12. Our faculty have access to world-class professional development, job-embedded coaching, and a warm and welcoming community. We need talented, energetic faculty who will put teamwork and student learning as their number one priority at our school. Learning support experience is preferred but we will train the right applicant. Director of College Counseling

Type: Part Time to Full Time Faculty (dependent on applicant qualifications)

  • Teach College Seminar (weekly, 1-2 hour class) to DP1 and DP2 students

  • Create and maintain data on college acceptances, merit scholarships

  • Create an individualized list for each college-ready student of safeties, fits, and reaches based on questionnaires and interviews. Continually revise said list throughout the process based on new information (updated scores, GPA, new interests, etc.)

  • Facilitate students' college application process through the following (this begins during a student’s freshman year, picks up heavily during a student’s junior year, and is fairly intense--day to day for some students, including weekends/evenings/breaks--during a student’s senior year)

Substitute Montessori Classroom Assistants

VIMSIA is looking for substitute Montessori classroom assistants for all levels, Toddler through Upper Elementary.

  • Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and the ability to work in the US Virgin Islands.

  • CPR Certification and Food Handlers Card are not required, but are a plus!

  • English/Spanish fluency preferred

Peter Gruber International Academy (PGIA):  Grades 6 to 12

PGIA candidates must be amenable to teaching under the auspices of the International Baccalaureate Programme (www.ibo.org). All PGIA teaching curriculum will be based on the IB MYP program for grades 6-10 and the IB DB program for grades 11 & 12. Our school is proud to be the first and only International Baccalaureate World School in the US Virgin Islands. In April 2009 we received our IB Diploma Programme authorization for Grades 11 and 12, in March of 2010 we received our IB MYP authorization for grades 7-10.   

In the PGIA, we are always interested in reviewing resumes for experienced Middle or High School applicants for all disciplines, preferably with at minimum one year teaching experience and International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching experience.  We are able to provide IB training for otherwise viable candidates. We review viable middle and high school teaching resumes year-round.
