HONK! JR. hatches on the Music Room Stage TONIGHT at VIMSIA

Join us on campus this weekend for a wonderful family event for the whole community! Directed by Ms. Mary Walden, our PGIA Theater Teacher and starring a gaggle of our fabulous VIMSIA students on stage and behind the scenes, we are thrilled to have great theater happening on campus! Thanks to the students, staff, and Ms. Walden for making art happen in a big way here at VIMSIA.

“HONK! JR. is an incredibly clever show that will have you laughing out loud. Yet at the center of all its humor is an inspiring message about acceptance and tolerance. We’d like to applaud all the students for their commitment to the production. Each cast member has been able to explore what makes him or her unique and to acknowledge how theirs and the others' contributions add value to our Poultry Tale.”

HONK! JR. follows “Ugly,” who hatches looking quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sister. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice, and despite his loving mother's protective flapping, Ugly’s odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. When Ugly is separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, he must find his way home. Along his harrowing yet hilarious journey he not only discovers his true beauty, but also finds friendship and acceptance in all its forms.
