Black History Month Presentations

As they do every year, the Upper Elementary students worked very hard for the entire month of February to research, write an essay and prepare a speech about a black person that has made a significant contribution to society.

Lower Elementary and Full Day Primary students were invited to these presentations on Wednesday under the Solar Awning. They walked around listening to Upper Elementary students’ performances of the biographies they prepared.

Just a "Fraction" of Pizza

Everyone in Ms. Satter’s class received a fractions lesson recently using the Montessori fraction metal inset material. Of course, during the lessons pizza was referenced several times, so the children were treated to pizza last Friday to celebrate fractions. Lots of happy faces!

The “Story of the Universe” is one of the first of the "Great Stories" told to Elementary students. The Great Stories are a series of lessons that lay the foundation for the exploration of all topics, with the first one laying the basis for Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, and Geology.

The Upper Elementary class put on a dynamic presentation on Greek Mythology featuring gods and goddesses today for the Lower Elementary Students! Under the direction of Virgin Islands Montessori School & Peter Gruber International Academy Upper Elementary Teacher, Kate Ludick, students prepared facts to present, dressed up in costume displaying key signature pieces and performed a group dance with audience participation! The event concluded with questions and answers from both parents and students!
