LAS VEGAS NIGHT RAFFLE - Family Commitment to Sell!

Dear VIMSIA Families,

SAVE THE DATE for our school's biggest annual fundraiser - Las Vegas Night (LVN) on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Sapphire Beach Resort. This - the largest and most exciting social event on the St. Thomas calendar - is 13 weeks away. This year's event will be incredibly special as we inaugurate the 60th year of providing an "Education for Life" for generations of Virgin Islanders.

Our school has a unique opportunity to raise $60,000 even before the event, by pushing the sale of LVN raffle tickets.  It's an easy sell, as the prizes are CASH:  1st prize: $10,000; 2nd prize:$3,000; 3rd prize: $ 1,000; 4th prize: $500. A good opening line for you / your students to use is: "Ask me how you can win $10,000!"

LAS VEGAS NIGHT 2022

These books will be coming home with your student on Thursday September 7th. If you have multiple students, it will be with the eldest one. So ask them for it, or look in their backpacks.  Income from LVN directly subsidizes tuition and allows the school to continue offering financial aid and scholarships to 70% of our families. Every family needs to put its best foot forward to ensure the success of this event.

Each family will be issued 4 books of tickets to sell. Each ticket is $5 and each book $50. You will be responsible for $200 to the school. If lost or not returned, the amount will be added to your annual invoicing for payment.

To request more tickets, please contact Kathy Huttel at khuttel@vimsia.org or 775-6360.

HOUSEKEEPING TIPS:

  • DO NOT REMOVE INDIVIDUAL STUBS FROM THE BOOK.

  • As you sell full books, please return the stubs and money in a sealed envelope to Kathy Huttel, Administration. Then please ask for more books to sell. This really helps with the administration and cash flow for the event.

  • All money and tickets (sold or unsold) are due back at school no later than November 30, 2023.

To add even more excitement, the family that sells the most (and the 2nd most) raffle books over 35 complete books will win deductions of  $1500 and $750 respectively off tuition, applied to the 2024 academic year.

    RULES FOR INCENTIVE:

    • Only complete books (10 tickets sold) will be counted towards an individual’s tally.

    • Sold ticket stubs and money must be submitted to Kathy Huttel by November 30th 2023 to be eligible towards an individual’s tally.

    • If the two highest sellers have the same number of complete books over 35, then the $2,250 will be split equally between the persons involved.

    • Unless otherwise indicated and documented, any sold tickets when returned will be counted toward the tally of the person who was officially assigned the tickets on the master log.

Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and diligence in selling tickets. GOOD LUCK – IT MAY BE YOUR TURN TO WIN!
