Student Science Day "All Systems Go!" - Monday, May 9 

VIMSIA is proud to host a group of six NASA scientists and engineers for a Student Science Day during our regular school hours.  Students will see and experience great science and tech throughout the day courtesy of our NASA guests.  Topics to be covered include: Environmental Engineering, Applied Physics, Medical Science, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Development and Computer Science.

NASA STEM/Astronomy Night - COMMUNITY OUTREACH Monday evening

The NASA STEM/Astronomy Night will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. under the Solar Awning at VIMSIA and is open to the public.  We all hope to get a great turnout!  The NASA scientists and engineers will be center stage with STEM demonstrations and STEM focused educational information. The evening will culminate with "Stories in the Stars" in UVI's inflatable planetarium, as well as opportunities to stargaze with Dr. David Morris and other Etelman Observatory experts using their state-of-the-art telescopes.

Professional Development for K-12 Educators - Saturday, May 14

NASA Educator Professional Development Specialist, Dr. Lester Morales, M.D. will be hosting a Professional Development Workshop for our USVI K-12 teachers at VIMSIA on Saturday, May 14.  This 1/2 day workshop is entitled “NASA STEM Curricula and Content for Classroom Implementation”.  Educators will be introduced to NASA math, science, technology, and engineering content, and many valuable website resources. Teachers will learn about upcoming opportunities for themselves, as well as for their students. All teachers attending will receive three contact hours for this training.  This event is open to all USVI educators at no charge - please register below.
