The International Baccalaureate Programme
6th – 12th grades
In April 2009, VIMSIA became the first and only IB World School in the U.S. Virgin Islands!
We are one of only 238 schools in the world that offer both the MYP and DP through the International Baccalaureate Organization. This, coupled with our Primary and Elementary Montessori program, makes VIMSIA a truly unique school.
Middle Years Programme
Grades 6 – 10
The MYP prepares students to develop as learners, engage in community service, and improve their academic skills. We prepare students both for life-long learning and for the Diploma Programme.
Diploma Programme
Grades 11 – 12
The DP is a two-year pre-university program. The successful completion of this program is recognized by esteemed colleges and universities worldwide as excellent preparation for post-secondary education.
International Baccalaureate
The IB offers a rigorous and rewarding curriculum that allows students to reflect on and develop their learning, empowering them to become independent thinkers and principled doers.

The Peter Gruber International Academy with its International Baccalaureate curriculum would not be possible without the generous support of Peter and Patricia Gruber.
It was Peter Gruber's vision, along with that of his wife Patricia, which established The Gruber Foundation and continued to guide it until the transition to Yale University. VIMSIA is so proud to be affiliated with these outstanding philanthropists..
